By providing access to quality education and vocational training to equip young people with the skills they need to succeed, IVI offers sustainable education to vulnerable young people who have been exploited or are at risk of exploitation requiring a comprehensive approach that addresses their physical, emotional, and psychological needs through:
- Safe and supportive environment: creating a safe space for learning, free from trauma triggers and exploitation and provides a supportive environment with trained staff and counsellors.
- Individualized learning plans: developing personalized learning plans that cater to each individual’s needs, skills, and goals. IVI considers their educational background, learning style and trauma experiences.
- Basic literacy and numeracy; providing basic literacy and numeracy classes to help victims develop essential skills for daily life and future employment.
- Vocational skills training: offering vocational training in skills like tailoring, hair dressing, mechanical engineering, crafts making, agriculture, entrepreneurship etc. to equip victims with marketable skills for employment or self-employment.
- Life skills and empowerment; Teaching life skills like financial literacy, time management, and self-care to empower victims make informed decisions and take control of their lives.
- Community integration; encouraging community integration by involving local community members in the education process, promoting socialization and reintegration.
Collaboration with local organizations; Partnering with local organizations and stakeholders to ensure the education program is relevant, sustainable, and aligned with community needs.
